Men's Adult Soccer Program
General
The Ottawa Internationals fields teams for adult players of all ages and experience.
The Senior Men's and Old-Timer’s teams of the Ottawa Internationals Soccer Club play in the Ottawa-Carleton Soccer League (OCSL) which is under the Eastern Ontario District Soccer Association (EODSA).
Generally speaking, players in the higher level Competitive divisions have played soccer at a relatively high competitive level for several years in Clubs and possibly at university or community college.
Those playing in lower competitive or recreational divisions may also have that experience but neither the desire nor time to invest in training more than once a week.
At the lower divisions the expectation is one practice and one game per week, and the level of actual playing experience prior to joining a team lessens on average as you change levels.
Joining a team.
You are advised to decide which level seems appropriate to your own skill set, fitness, and experience and contact the coaches of that particular team or teams.
You will be invited to try-out - usually at least twice - and then will be able to decide for yourself if you are up to the challenge.
If you can do the job and the coach and manager agree, you may choose to continue trying out with that team. If either you or the team administration feel that you need to move down to a lower level - or up to a higher one - the other level coach or manager will be contacted by you or the team's administration and again you will be invited out.
